FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Terrazzino?

A self-leveling decorative epoxy floor that combines a fine Terrazzino aggregate blend with a two-component, 100% solids clear epoxy binder to achieve the look of terrazzo in one application.

Is Terrazzino the same as traditional terrazzo?

No. It is designed to replicate the appearance of terrazzo and quartz flooring, but it is installed as a self-leveling epoxy system rather than poured and ground terrazzo.

How many colors are available?

Eight blends: North Sea, Hierro, Contrast, Classic, Desert, Galaxy, Cinnamon, and Sesame. See the Colors page for photos and base coat pairings.

Do I need a moisture vapor barrier?

Terrazzino Moisture Vapor Control is required on all slab-on-grade work and any application directly over concrete. Terrazzino Fast Set Primer is an alternative only over eligible non-porous surfaces, and it is not a moisture barrier.

How thick is the finished floor?

The Terrazzino micro-terrazzo layer is applied at 60 mils, over a base coat and moisture barrier or primer, then finished with a topcoat.

What topcoat options are there?

A urethane topcoat for wear, chemical, and UV protection, or Terrazzino Cera, a polymer wax-like finish for floors maintained by periodic buffing and re-waxing rather than resealing.

Is installation easy?

It is skill-intensive. The product guidance recommends practice before a live installation, and notes that notched-squeegee coverage yields vary by brand and should be tested on-site.

What is the VOC content and solids level?

Solids by volume: 99–100% (±1%) (liquids mixed without aggregate). VOC content: < 2 g/L.

What is the kit shelf life?

1 year in unopened containers, stored at normal room temperature.

How much area does a kit cover?

Approx. 55 sq ft per kit at 60 mils — a conservative figure. Order about 10% extra; the coverage calculator uses the same rate.
